What a week this will be!

Today I woke up still having a cold and I cough, I have a nice little headache and fever. It’s just awesome! I had to go home early from school and I had to rearrange a casting I was called to do. Good thing I could change it to tomorrow, I would have been dead otherwise..

It’s a hectic but really fun week coming together.

Wednesday: Casting for a commercial and monologue performance
Thursday: Casting for a humor show, watching a theater play performed by some of the people at my school, my cousin comes to Stockholm and will stay all weekend
Friday-Sunday: Hanging with my cousin, doing random things!

Don’t hate me, ok? but I do dislike summer in so many ways. It’s descusting… Blää!

I had an audition this last Friday and I’ll perform in church on Wednesday :) I feel quite good about it now actually. I’m like the most self-critic person there is and now, finally, I’ve started recording my voice when I’m singing and it has imoroved so much since I started studying! Thanks M!

On Thursday I will fly to Finland with my mom, she will be there when I’m auditioning for a great acting school over there.

So I am auditioning for Helsingfors theatre school two weeks from now and I have both my texts (that I will audition with) set. I am going to do one of the texts that I auditioned with to this school that I’m attending now and one poem that I will perform in church 2 days before my audition in Finland. Stoked.

But now, it’s Friday, I will call my friend Friday aka FvS soon and I will see if I will be able to grab a coffee with her before I go to school. It’s been forever since I met her so if we met up I’ll be stoked. Tomorrow is the celebration of spring really being here (Swedish people tend to have to have something to celebrate so we can drink like crazy and wake up the day after saying; Well it was Valborg so it is okay).

Playing Shakespeare; sonnet 120

A Shakespeare sonnet, the harmony of a play. It’s magical how so few words can make you feel and see.

So we are now working with Shakespeare in school, which is classic. Which acting school does not? We have a course now that is called Monologue technique, which until now have been based on cold reading and being where you are in your text. When you say something, do you say it because your emotion drives you to it or do you say something and act from what you say? I can’t really explain it better than the master himself; so enjoy!

Dear diary: We had our first class in Dramaturgy today, with Eva Brise, she told us to keep diaries on what we do at Calle Flygare Acting school. Which I kind of do, but not really. So from now on I will keep a diary, here on my blog on what we do in class. Creating a new Category – Diary @ Calle Flygare, under Acting – Acting school.

We talked a lot about things to think about and how to start writing.

To think about: Characters, Relations and Reaction.

♥ Characters – We have to have different characters, with different goals to make a story interesting. If you have two characters, both with the same feelings you will probably have a hard time moving the story forward. You will get to characters who agree and it’s not “interesting enough”.

♥ Reactions - How do the “other” character react on what the character says.

♥ Relations – Simple, without relations you will never ever have any dialogs, which is quite important. So relations between the characters you create; not said that they have to love each other.

Work, shopping, school, home is my plan for today. I have an errand on Söder, after that I will try getting myself to MQ for some shopping, since I got gift cards there on my birthday, but only if time is available. We have Dramaturgy today in school, we had to read a script until today and I can tell you all that it’s one of the most wierd scripts I have ever read..

I am going to school soon, even if I don’t feel 100 percent I have to go. We are doing some sort of presentation of the things we have done during this year with this teacher so I think it’s important for me to go. But I won’t be active in class. Almost everyone in my class. Love. We had a good “first” day in school today. Rehearsing our scenes with PJ (the teacher of all times), felt good but we have to come early to school tomorrow to rehears some more.. I will be completely out of it. My acting life.

I just love being busy. Now I have a short film project going on, two photo sessions scheduled, a catwalk job, a huge birthday party and, with some luck, a commercial job. This is my acting life right now. 15 hours a week of acting school and model/acting/film jobs almost every week. I just love love love it! LOVE. Or as Rachel Zoe would put it, I die.

Today we started rehearse the few pages we chose to start with in the play Människor i Solen written by Jonas Gardell, it was lots of fun.

There are a few things that I’m not liking in my life right now and I just have to tell you a little bit about it, since you are my readers and all that.. I just stopped smoking, well, it’s 27 days since I stopped smoking and the last couple of days have been hard, but I have not smoked one cigarette since October 1st. There are other things going on in my head as well, but I’ll leave that out right now……

Plays and beer, a good combo?

Yesterday at school we read three plays, all of them from Swedish play writers, and I can’t remember the writers name either. One of them I do remember, Människor i Solen – Jonas Gardell have to say that I love it!

Anyways, just like any other Friday we had to go grab a beer at Citykrogen, the best place to spend time at a Friday afternoon.

A confusing snowy Sweden

Today: Snow, basic acting, beer, dinner, party? WTF, snow? if you saw my last post you probably could understand how confusing a winter in Sweden might be. That picture was taken a week ago, not even that, last Saturday. Now it’s snowing outside? WTF.

I’m finally home after a whole day of acting, singing and relaxation exorcises. We started off with basic acting, it was fun, hard work though. Me and a guy from school did a scene were I was a groupie, in his lounge. He came in drinking, didn’t want the things I wanted and I had to say something like grab it and it should start function.
I wasn’t really comfortable with grabbing my classmates property so the whole thing just got so embarrassing for me. It’s all about an approval by the other actor, and at that point I didn’t have one. So I thought.

I’m home now, baking a vegan cake.

I had fun in school yesterday. We started of with basic acting. Lindsay and I did a scene together. Her goal in this scene was to convince me to buy a dog. She did.. :) After basic acting we had lunch and moved on to singing. We found out how to sing in overdrive, just like Tracy Chapman do, at least in most of her songs. Last but not least we had speech, we got divided in to groups of 5 to do fables together. I ended up in a nice group. We are going to kill it on stages!

Today is the International Suit Up day. So suit up, I am. Eff, I don’t know if I can call it that I suit up, since I can’t find my pants I will have to dress up, but that’s how I first interpreted it. So just do it, suit/dress up!

Can’t believe that this actually is the only time today (07:01) I have time to sit here and blog. Well it is. Made a decision yesterday, that I would get a little bit more personal again. I only lost a couple of hundred :( But I had to process..

Anyways, this is my day of and I wake up earlier than I usually do when I have school. Sucks. Yesterday was movement and dance class. Had so much fun. We did some pilates, stretching and did a quick dance routine. I’m sore now.

Well, I’m heading for breakfast now. Just about time..
